Sponsorship Policy Briar Hill Community Centre (BHCC)
(February 27, 2025)
BHCC is committed to building meaningful partnerships with sponsors to support the Community Centre and its programs. We will acknowledge sponsors appropriately in our communications and events while maintaining full transparency regarding the nature of these relationships and ensuring that our association is not used in a misleading manner.
Definition of Sponsorship:
The term “sponsorship” means a contribution (either in cash or in-kind) that is given to support specific programs, activities, events or services of BHCC. The sponsoring organization may be a public or private business, a government organization or an individual.
Criteria for approving sponsors:
1. Whether the sponsor’s products, services or goals align with that of our community center.
2. Whether the BHCC would benefit from associating with the sponsor.
3. The Board of Directors shall have final say on the suitability of a proposed sponsorship arrangement.
4. BHCC name, logo and/or identifying information may not be used by the sponsor in any manner that would imply BHCC endorsement of the sponsor or its products, services or policies.
5. BHCC will have complete control of the format, schedule, content and speakers for any sponsored activity or event. However, sponsors may provide recommendations.
Oversight
The Board of Directors is responsible for establishing the principles and guidelines governing relationships with sponsors. The BHCC Office is responsible for day-to sponsorship matters.
Sponsorship Recognition
Sponsorship of a one-time event will be noted by BHCC in the email event notification, signage at the event and where appropriate acknowledged by the MC of the event.
For significant sponsorship (at the Board’s discretion), recognition of their sponsorship will be added to our BHCC website in the form of a logo or business card in addition to those above.
Termination
BHCC reserves the right to terminate any sponsorship if the sponsor or its representatives or agents engage in any conduct that would cause the board to reasonably determine that its continued participation in the arrangement with the sponsor might adversely affect the goodwill and reputation of BHCC or its members. BHCC will provide formal notice of any such termination and will relinquish the sponsor’s contribution and return all unused funds.
