Summer Concert Series 2025

We have exciting news !!!  We will now be offering 5 concerts in our Summer Concert Series !!!

  • May 10 – Chicago Transit (Chicago Tribute)
  • June 7 – Motown Mania
  • July 12 – Pretzel Logic (Steely Dan Tribute)
  • August 9 – The Soul Brothers (Blues Brothers tribute)
  • September 13 – Fleetwood Mac Mania

All tickets for the 2025 Concert Series  have been sold.

The cheques will be cashed around January 2, 2025.

The tickets will be available for pick up mid April 2025 – an email will be sent out when ready.

The “Briar Hill Community Centre Concert Series” Facebook page appears to be working well !!!  If you cannot attend a concert, you can post on this Facebook page indicating the number of tickets you have and the amount you would like (you have paid $30 for each ticket).

May 10, 2025 – Chicago Transit (Chicago tribute)

There are a lot of bands doing a tribute to the band Chicago, but back in the early 90s, when Powerhouse decided to put together their Chicago Transit tribute act, they were the first in the world to do so. And they remain today as the longest running Chicago tribute band and the only one to carry four lead vocalists, just as the band Chicago does.

The band’s 5 singers, 4 of which are lead singers, the 3-piece horn section and the intricate horn arrangements of the band’s past trombonist, Dan Elliot, made this show a natural for the band – even getting credit from the band Chicago themselves, back in the 90s.

In twenty-five years, the band, based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada has performed their show at Festivals, Theatres, Casinos and various other venues from as far east as the Gatineau Hills in Quebec to the USA Midwest – including Chicago, Illinois, itself.

The band, with its 3 piece horn section, four piece rhythm section and four lead vocalists is able to cover all the Chicago material from the early horn-dominant classics like ‘Make Me Smile’, ’25 or 6 to 4’ and ‘Saturday in the Park’ to the later, softer, keyboard-oriented ballads like ‘If You Leave Me Now’.

June 7, 2025 – Motown Mania

More than a record label, “MOTOWN” became a style and a legend that forever changed the history of music. Emerging from the passion of millions of fans that were touched by this music, is the tribute band Motown Mania.

This act brings back the greatest hits from the likes of Diana Ross & The Supremes, Smokey Robinson, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, The Commodores, Gladys Knight & The Pips, Aretha Franklin, The Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, the Jackson 5, James Brown, and more incredible artists that blossomed during the Soul and R&B movement of the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s.

July 12, 2025 – Pretzel Logic (Steely Dan Tribute)

At the nexus of jazz, blues and rock lies Steely Dan, the musicians’ band. Pretzel Logic is a nine-piece band whose dedicated members play with a passion the music of Steely Dan, whose legendary hits include: “Reelin’ in the Years”, “Josie”, and “Peg”.  These musicians have played with The Four Tops, Robbie Lane, Boston, Glass Tiger, Kim Mitchell and Martha Reeves to name a few …

Aug 9, 2025 – The Soul Brothers (Blues Brothers tribute)

The Soul Brothers is an explosive, funny and entertaining tribute to The Blues Brothers with music, action & comedy. This amazing act covers Jake & Elwood’s classic blues songs and more while appearing to be the original brothers live on stage!

Chris and Geoff Dahl, both wearing black suits, black hats and black sunglasses are on a mission from God as the reincarnation of cult figures Jake and Elwood. Two Canadians, and brothers in real life too, present a slick show with all the smash hits such as “Everybody Needs Somebody” or “Sweet Home Chicago”, comedy sketches and plenty of action!

Sept 13, 2025 – Fleetwood Mac Manic (Fleetwood Mac tribute)

FLEETWOOD MAC MANIA is a stunning visual and musical tribute to Fleetwood Mac.

Each veteran player in this tribute band brings their spirit to re-create, with incredible accuracy, the look and feel of Fleetwood Mac. With the solo hits of Stevie Nicks as part of the show, the harmonies, instrumentation and on-stage chemistry has surprised and captivated audiences from coast-to-coast.

THE BRIAR HILL COMMUNITY CENTRE CONCERT SERIES HAS A NEW FACEBOOK PAGE !!!  

If you are looking to buy individual tickets for some of our Summer Concerts, please sign up for the Facebook page Briar Hill Community Centre Concert Series. This is where current patrons will post if they have tickets for sale for concerts they are unable to attend. Following are instructions for signing up:

This Facebook page has been set up to keep you up to date on the BHCC concert series!

It is also a place for current patrons to post tickets for sale for concerts they cannot attend AND a place for people looking for concert tickets to see what is available for sale.  Myrna Corbett will no longer be selling tickets for patrons (it turned into quite a big job) so you can either sell or give to friends and neighbours OR post on our Facebook page!  If you are a Facebook user, please join the page (search Briar Hill Community Centre Concert Series) so you can keep up to date on what’s happening !!!
